Semantic data dissemination algorithms for opportunistic networks

The main goal of Recognition project is to construct data dissemination algorithms in opportunistic networks based on human cognitive mechanisms that allow to sort and evaluate information before transmission.  We have applied semantic memory models to construct our data dissemination algorithm and, as in human memory, we simulated forgetting and memorisation processes. Obtained constraints on the forgetting function parameters give as a possibility to maintain stability of the semantic network.
We have constructed two data exchange algorithms and determined the semantic network is scale-free and it could be described by the fitness model of Biaconi-Barabashi. We described the behavior of opportunistic networks with semantic data transfer filter by an epidemic model with heterogeneous transmission parameters.
We are currently running experiments on Flickr and Twitter datasets which will help us to estimate data transfer performance and filtering efficiency compared to previously used non-semantic algorithms.
