Niche games and the fate of communities ruled by different payoff matrices

In the first part of this talk I will review multi species competition by resources, which defines a niche axis. I will also present results concerning the total abundance and diversity of ecological communities.
In the second part I will propose a way to extend niche competition theory by including interactions beyond mutual competition -like mutualism and parasitism- via game theory, giving rise to Niche Game Theory (NGT). I will analyze the effects on total abundance and diversity of introducing cooperative interspecific interactions for different popular dilemma games (prisoner's dilemma, chicken and stag hunt games).
Finally I will address possible practical applications of NGT in different realms: virology, agriculture, plant-pollinator networks, strategic market decision analysis.
