Nikos Paragios, Editor in Chief of the CVIU Journal
Nikos Paragios, Professor of Applied Mathematics, Director of the Center for Visual Computing of Ecole Centrale de Paris & Scientific leader of the GALEN team of Inria Saclay, Ile-de-France was appointed Editor in Chief of the Computer Vision and Image Understanding (CVIU) Journal.
CVIU is published by Elsevier Publishing House and is one of the oldest and leading journals in the field of computer vision and image understanding. In 2009, it was named one of the top 20 journals in computer science by Times Higher Education. Today, the Computer Vision and Image Understanding Journal receives over 500 submissions per annum, and enjoys an impressive 2.202 5-year Impact Factor. Over 135K counter compliant downloads were recorded for the journal in 2013.
Professor Paragios is succeeding Professor Avi Kak from Purdue University, who has been leading the journal for the past two decades.
