2013 Heritage Days
A look back at the 2013 Heritage Days in images
On Sunday 15 September 2013, the Inria Saclay - Île-de-France centre opened its doors for the first time for the Heritage Days. It was an opportunity for the general public to discover digital heritage by travelling in time.
There were several events planned at the Alan Turing building:
The past: Exhibit of a collection of computers - A Historical Overview
Through four subject areas, this exhibit presented an overview of the history of computers, from the first family machines to the shift toward mobile computing.
The present: An architectural tour of the Alan Turing building
The public had the opportunity to discover the particularities of the bioclimatic building through a tour given by one of the architects who designed it.
The future: Photo exhibit, "My research will be on..."
Through a series of photos, visitors were able to understand the aesthetic aspect of some subjects, and to catch a glimpse of a part of the future with research that is being developed.
These days were hosted by the CNRS, Inria Saclay - Île-de-France, the Orsay College of Sciences at the University of Paris-Sud, the SOLEIL Synchrotron, and the Sciences-ACO association, through La Diagonale Paris-Saclay.
