Stéphane Ubeda

As of 1 December 2021, Stéphane Ubeda is acting director of the Inria centre in Lyon.

Stéphane Ubeda received his PhD in computer science from the University Claude Bernard (Lyon) in 1993. He began his career as an assistant professor at the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne in Switzerland. In 1994, he became a lecturer at the Jean Monnet University (Saint-Etienne). He is a member of the Parallel Computing Laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. He works in the field of parallel algorithmics within the REMAP project-team at Inria.

In 2000, he became a university professor at the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon, where he was responsible for launching a research laboratory in the field of networks, telecommunications and distributed systems. At the same time, he led the Centre of Innovations in Telecommunications and Service Integration until September 2009.

In 2002, he created and led the Inria ARES project team within CITI. In 2008, he joined the AMAZONES project team.

In 2010, he left the management of CITI to join Inria as director of technological development.

In 2014, Stéphane Ubeda attended the annual training cycle of the Institut des Hautes Etudes pour la Science et la Technologie (IHEST).

From 1 October 2015 to 30 September 2020, Stéphane Ubeda is Director of the Inria Research Centre in Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique.

On 1 October 2020, Stéphane Ubeda was appointed Project Manager for Bruno Sportisse, President and CEO of Inria, in view of the creation of the Inria Research Centre in Lyon. Since 1 December 2021, he has been acting director of the Inria Centre in Lyon.
