The Institute's strategic ambition, as clearly announced in its Contract of Objectives and Performance for the period 2019-2023, is to be a national research organization serving the development of major world-class research campuses in digital sciences and technologies. It is in this context that the Inria centre at Université Côte d'Azur has signed a strategic agreement with its territorial partner, Université Côte d'Azur.
Convinced that their models complement each other, Université Côte d'Azur and Inria have entered into this strategic partnership based on their existing organization and structures, respectively Inria's joint project-team model and Université Côte d'Azur's laboratories, departments, University Research Schools (EUR) and interdisciplinary institutes, in order to encourage the creation of joint synergies in the field of digital science and technology on the Côte d'Azur.
This site policy aims to improve the international attractiveness of the site for the benefit of teaching and research in areas where Inria and Université Côte d'Azur have a common interest, and for the creation of jobs in the region with five major objectives
- To take up major research challenges by encouraging scientific risk-taking
- To co-construct research by encouraging interdisciplinarity
- Deploying a dynamic HR policy to attract the best talents
- Encourage involvement in teaching for all researchers
- Seek joint human and financial resources
Strengthen joint synergies
The Inria centre and the Université Côte d'Azur have been collaborating for many years through joint actions. This strategic agreement will accelerate the digital dynamics of the Côte d'Azur region.
This ambitious joint site policy will enable better coordination of bilateral actions, as well as actions that lead Inria and its partner to work with third parties, whether with public partners in education, research and innovation, or with private partners, be they French, European or foreign.
It also works to promote the dissemination of scientific and technical culture.
It also aims to improve the international attractiveness of the campuses for the benefit of teaching, research in areas of common interest, and job creation. Particular attention is paid to the coordination of HR policies (recruitment, delegation, mobility, reception, etc.), in particular to support the joint project teams created or to be created.
Among the strategic and operational achievements of the partnerships already initiated are the creation of the Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Institute (3IA Côte d'Azur) and the NeuroMod Institute for Modeling in Neuroscience and Cognition.
