Sophie Proust

Sophie Proust was appointed Executive Director of the Programmes Agency by Bruno Sportisse, CEO of Inria, on 1st January 2024.

 

A graduate of the Supélec electricity college in Paris, Sophie Proust was chief technology officer (CTO) of Atos from 2019 to 2023. Before that, between 2014 and 2019, she headed the Research and Development branch of Atos' Big Data and Cybersecurity division.

Sophie Proust joined the group in 2014 following the acquisition of Bull by Atos, where she held the position of Head of Research and Development. At Bull, she also led the Tera100 programme, which developed and delivered Europe's first Petaflop-scale supercomputer to the French Atomic Energy Authority (CEA) in 2010.

Sophie Proust was a member of the Atos Quantum Advisory Board, chaired by the CEO of Atos, with Serge Haroche (Nobel Prize in 2012) and Alain Aspect (Nobel 2022) as members.

Since December 2022, she has been a member of the Académie des Technologies.

Sophie Proust is also a member of the Board of Directors of IDSA (International Data Spaces Association), and of Inria's Scientific Council since 2020. She is also a member of the board of directors of UTT (Université Technologique de Troyes). She was a member of the Worldline board of directors from 2016 to 2019.
