RADIOS

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of central vision loss, especially in the elderly. The RADIOS project investigates the role of mechanical factors in shaping atrophic lesions by developing advanced computational models of the retina and geographic atrophy. This work combines in silico simulations with state-of-the-art imaging, in collaboration with Prof. M. Paques’ group at the Hopital National des Quinze-Vingts. Fast and computationally efficient digital experiments will complement in vitro studies and help establish a stronger scientific foundation for the future development of therapeutic strategies.
