PUshing Low-carbon Services towards the Edge

To address climate challenges while meeting the growing need for computing resources, the PULSE challenge combines the skills and expertises of Inria and Qarnot computing to propose a new—and more virtuous—high-performance computing model. In particular, PULSE intends to rely on the digital boilers designed by Qarnot computing to promote the emergence of computing ecosystems leveraging heat emissions while optimising the efficiency of tasks deployed at the edge of the network. This convergence of needs and environmental challenges will foster creativity to better understand the impact of supercomputing infrastructures and propose optimisations in the fields of task scheduling, data storage and carbon emissions control.
