The digital transformation opens up a wealth of new opportunities, but iit increasingly exposes our IT systems and personal data to attacks. The risks are also substantial for governments or operators of vital importance from both a human and an economic point of view. In this context, Inria has unveiled a new white book on the subject of cybersecurity, the goal being to review the major scientific issues and raise awareness of the importance of this subject.
The University of Strasbourg and Inria are giving new impetus to their collaboration in the age of artificial intelligence
The University of Strasbourg and Inria are today to sign a framework agreement that will enable them to give a more coherent structure to their relationship in addition to boosting their shared scientific research projects. In so doing, the two partners will be formalising a shared desire to give new impetus to their collaboration and to share their resources, the goal being to promote the emergence of new research subjects and to boost the impact they already have.
The International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC) is part of a wider strategy aimed at promoting a Europe-wide vision for cybersecurity, a strategy Inria is keen to promote. Find out more about Inria’s competencies in this field, combining digital technology and science.
Prix Leroy P. Steele 2019
Nobody aware of the importance of his work will be surprised to see Philippe Flajolet featuring once again among the biggest names in the world of mathematics, the American Mathematical Society in particular. More than eight years after his sudden death, Flajolet is to be awarded the Leroy P. Steele Prize for Mathematical Excellence on 17 January 2019. He will share this prize with Robert Sedgewick from Princeton University, with whom he wrote the book Analytic Combinatorics , which was published in 2009.
Inria Awards 2018
Lets's discover the men and women who contribute to innovative computer science and mathematics and drive the development of our digital world. The Inria Awards also underline the contributions of research and innovation support teams who play a significant part in the efficiency and successes of Inria. The 2018 winners are honoured on December 18, 2018 at a ceremony dedicated to them at the Collège de France.
News about digital sciences were rich this year. Once again, our researchers have worked to meet the scientific, industrial and societal challenges by increasing the impact of their research: artificial intelligence, interdisciplinary, partnerships with large groups and SMEs, researcher awards, software development, start-up creation... Biomedicine & Digital
Biomedical engineers at Duke University, in collaboration with Inria and the Institut Pasteur (Paris), have shown experimentally that there is more than one flavor of antibiotic resistance and that it could -- and should -- be taken advantage of to keep first-line antibiotics in our medical arsenal.
