Being an engineer at Inria
Are you an R&D engineer? Join us and contribute to our research and technology transfer activities as a member of one of our research teams, offering day-to-day support to our researchers.
Being an R&D Engineer at Inria means providing day-to-day support to researchers in their work, by developing software and tools to facilitate their research and by setting up technology platforms for experimentation.
We deliberately keep our research teams small in order to promote a climate of exchange in which everyone's view is heard. Working for Inria also represents an opportunity to forge strong links with the industrial world and to take part in the creation of start-ups incubated within the Institute.
How to join Inria?
Engineering positions are mainly offered on the basis of a fixed-term contract (of up to 3 years), most often for the duration of the industrial contract to which they are linked. Such positions are offered throughout the year.
Some permanent positions are filled though competitive exam (external competitive exam are generally held in April and May) or by transfer of staff from elsewhere in the public sector.
