Stéphane Ubeda, Director of the Inria Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique research centre

On October 1st, 2015, Stéphane Ubeda was named Director of the Inria Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique research centre.

After earning his PhD in computer science from the Université Claude Bernard (Lyon), Stéphane Ubeda began his career as lecturer at the Université Jean Monnet (Saint-Etienne) and member of the Parallel Computing Laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. He works in the field of parallel algorithmics within the REMAP project-team at Inria.

In 2000, he became a university professor at the French National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon, where he was responsible for launching a research laboratory in the fields of telecommunications, networks, and distributed systems. At the same time, he led the Centre of Innovations in Telecommunications and Service Integration until September 2009.

During this period, he created and led the ARES project-team at Inria. In 2008, he joined the AMAZONES project-team.

On October 1st, 2015, Stéphane Ubeda was named Director of the Inria Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique research centre.
