Marc Pouzet : Inria – French Académie des sciences – Dassault Systèmes Innovation Award

Winner of the Inria – Académie des sciences – Dassault Systèmes Award for Innovation, Marc Pouzet is a specialist in synchronous languages. His research concerns the design, semantics and implementation of programming languages to be used in embedded systems. Among other things, his research has led to the development of SCADE KCG 6, a language and environment used to make critical software for aircraft and trains.

As a world-class specialist in distributed databases, Patrick Valduriez has directed three major Inria research projects and has found many applications for his discoveries. His major success has been the Kelkoo price comparison site, for which the source code was originally created at Inria and Bull. Patrick Valduriez’s solutions have been used in major database products. His university textbook serves as a reference work for students throughout the world. It’s the story of a knowledge broker.

Pascale Vicat-Blanc, founder of the Lyatiss company, has recently received the lnria - French Académie des Sciences (Academy of Sciences) – Dassault Systèmes Innovation award. She sees in this personal honour a recognition for her team and her company – and an interest in young women that may be inspired by what she has accomplished. Conscious of being a sort of role model, she has campaigned for the European de-compartmentalisation of the spheres of research, business and investment.

Paul-Louis George : Inria - Dassault Systèmes 2012 Innovation Award winner

Team leader of the Gamma3 project team (Inria, Troyes University of Technology), Paul Louis George is one of the inventors of the GHS3D volume mesh, a software used throughout the world by players in the industry, researchers and academics. Integrated in several software for 3D calculations by finished elements, GHS3D helps obtain simulations which are particularly reliable and high performing. A success based on teamwork undertaken over the long term and which is now being rewarded with the innovation award.

Stéphane Donikian, At the heart of the Golaem adventure

Founded in January 2009, Golaem is the result of around a decade of research by Stéphane Donikian into human behaviour modelling. The start-up that he created has won several contracts and, since May 2011, is marketing its third product, Golaem Crowd, to the world of animated film.
