HPC4E : High Performance Computing for Energy
HPC4E (High Performance Computing for Energy ) is a two-year project whose goal is to apply new high performance computing techniques to simulations of industrial interest in the energy sector: production of wind energy, fuel system for the generation of biogas and exploration of oil and gas sources.
The HPC4E involves European and Brasilian institutions. The European coordinator is the Barcelona Supercomputing Center . The COPPE institute (Instituto Alberto Luiz Coimbra de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa de Engenharia ) of UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro ) are coordinating the Brasilian side. Six project teams from three Inria research centres are participating in this project.
