Microsoft Research-Inria Joint Centre
The creation of a joint laboratory with Microsoft Research, one of the biggest private research centres in the world, constitutes a first in the history of our institute.
Opened in January 2007, and renewed in October 2009, this laboratory brings together in the Saclay research cluster around thirty high-level researchers working on two major themes: logic and verification of security protocols or programs, and computer science research for the benefit of other sciences (computational sciences). This second area, which aims to design computer environments for researchers in exact and experimental sciences, also includes an aspect focusing on the preservation of cultural heritage and the automatic classification of visual archives.
