Are you a young graduate engineer? Do you have no more than a year’s experience? Would you like to begin your career in a top-level research environment? Inria offers you opportunities in the form of fixed term contracts of between one and two years’ duration within a small team of scientists. Throughout this contract, you will be mentored. These jobs will enable you to acquire some worthwhile initial work experience in computer-science software development and applied mathematics. Join us at Inria Lille - Nord Europe!
The Inria Bordeaux Sud-Ouest research centre has several project-teams that specialise in simulation, modelling, parallel programming and high performance computing. Intensive computing has become a factor of competitiveness for business. This computer-aided design, decision-making and control tool is indispensable in numerous fields of applications including aeronautics, coastal environments and geophysics.
Following the publication of its first White Paper on Artificial Intelligence, Inria unveils a second document, this time on autonomous and connected vehicles, in which it identifies and highlights all the issues surrounding the major advances and innovations in this field. What are the technological and scientific challenges, the economic, social and environmental issues, and the legal and ethical implications? This White Paper is a reference text that evaluates, questions and looks ahead.

SOFA is an open-souce software platform fitting multi-physics simulation requirements. As a physics engine, SOFA provides mathematical models and algorithms to simulate physical systems, such as soft body dynamics with collision detection. Developed for more than 10 years, SOFA now includes many state-of-the-art models, solvers and algorithms to create new efficient numerical simulations.
On Tuesday, 19 June, the AMDECC Project, launched 5 years ago through a partnership between Safran Tech, Inria Bordeaux – Sud-Ouest and the CORIA (UMR6614 CNRS Université de Rouen and INSA Rouen), received the Award for Best Collaborative Project, one of the Digital Simulation Trophies awarded by Teratec and Usine Digitale.
On 30 May 2018, Pierre-Marie Abadie, Chief Executive Officer of Andra, and François Sillion, acting CEO of Inria, signed a new partnership agreement on numerical simulation.
TsunamiLab was designed by José Galaz, industrial civil engineer, during a collaboration between CIGIDEN and Inria Chile. The project has three main goals: generate a useful tool for the community, create quality software and educate citizens through experimentation. José Galaz discusses the genesis and successes of the TsunamiLab, a demo of which will be presented at Futur.e.s 2018.
