"Markov Chains and Dependability Theory"

Nathalie Lacaux - 3/07/2014

Dependability metrics are omnipresent in every engineering field, from simple ones through to more complex measures combining performance and dependability aspects of systems. This book "Markov Chains and Dependability Theory" presents the mathematical basis of the analysis of these metrics in the most used framework, Markov models, describing both basic results and specialized techniques.

Evaluation of perceived quality

Jean-Michel Prima - 24/11/2010

How can you determine, in real time, whether the video or sound experienced by users is good or bad quality without asking them? In Rennes, research conducted by Inria makes it possible to automate the measurement of this perception. This innovation has an immediate application in the telecoms sector, where the start-up Perceptiva Lab will market services incorporating this technology.
