Castor Contest - Results 2015

AB - 16/12/2015

This international contest was set up to promote computing and digital science to as wide an audience of young people as possible, through fun activities such as solving riddles, taking part in challenges and playing logic games. Unlike an introduction to computer programming, the contest aims to show young boys and girls that computing is a science as well as a technology.

TransAlgo

7/02/2017

As we are about to book a plane ticket or a hotel room, we can notice a variability in prices just as we proceed to payment. Is this yield managementor is it due to discrimination based on unknown criteria (legal or not)? The aim of the TransAlgo project is to understand, and shed light on, this type of practice. How can methods that make it possible to verify if a decision is taken based on criteria that respect the values and rules of our societies be developed? Nozha Boujemaa, who has been tasked with this major work, responds.

Ethics and Algorithms : Conference

15/02/2018

We will try to show in this intervention that ethical questioning, like the questioning on the security of computer systems, is also a fertile source of new scientific and technical questions. For example, the questioning of privacy has given rise to numerous studies on the anonymization of data, the electronic voting project has led to the design of voting protocols, but also to the study of their limits. Similarly, questions relating to the fairness of algorithms, such as the post-bac admission algorithm, or that of the justification of a judgment or decision, lead to new problems that we do not yet know how to solve.
