European Research Council 2015
Christine Guillemot, research director at the Inria Rennes – Bretagne Atlantique research centre, has just been awarded a European Research Council Advanced Grant. The goal of the programme is to provide talented researchers with the means to conduct a ground-breaking, high-risk five-year exploratory research project in Europe independent of an established scientific programme or national or disciplinary scientific development strategy.
Sylvain Lefebvre, ALICE team researcher Sylvain Lefebvre, an Inria researcher, has won the Eurographics Award in the category "Young Researcher". This award comes in recognition of his research work on texture synthesis. With wide-ranging experience at Inria, he began his career at the EVASION team in Grenoble before going on to work in the REVES team in Sophia. He recently joined the ALICE team in Nancy. He views this award as acknowledgement of the collective work carried out within these teams on algorithms and methods to facilitate the creation and display of virtual environments.
Awards - Research
The ASAP team's paper entitled "Archiving Cold Data in Warehouses with Clustered Network Coding, Actes de EuroSys 2014" has won the prize awarded by the magazine La Recherche in the "Computer Science" category. Launched 12 years ago, this prize aims to promote research spanning different scientific and technological disciplines.
Erwan Faou, Inria researcher in the project-team IPSO, received last september 14 the Germund Dahlquist prize 2015, on the occasion of the international conference SciCADE2015 (Scientific Computation and Differential Equations) held in Potsdam (Germany).
The members of the Inocs research team, Diego Cattaruzza, Maxime Ogier and Frédéric Semet, in collaboration with Nabil Absi and Dominique Feillet of the École des Mines de Saint-Etienne took first place in the scientific prize category of the 2016 ROADEF/EURO Challenge organized in cooperation with Air Liquide. The ceremony was held on February 23, 2017 at the ROADEF conference in Metz.

Jifeng Xuan, post-doctoral student in Spirals team, just received a PhD thesis award from the CCF (China Computer Federation), for the work done during his thesis at the Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China.
