Three projects stemming from Inria have won awards as part of the national i-LAB competition - backed by the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research (MENESR) and Bpifrance - whose aim is to identify and support French projects for the creation of innovative technology companies.
Clément Quinton, a member of the Spirals team (a joint venture with the University of Lille 1*) between 2009 and 2014, was an engineer at the INRIA Lille - Nord Europe centre before starting work on his thesis. This thesis will be awarded a prize at the GDR GPL, on 15 June in Bordeaux. Clément is currently pursuing his post-doctoral research at the Milan Politecnico in the department headed by Carlo Ghezzi (ERC senior in the field of software engineering).
PowerAPI is a middleware toolkit to build software-defined powermeters that can monitor the power consumption of applications running on one or several machines. PowerAPI targets software developers to support the identification of energy hotspots in their code and data center administrators to provide a fine-grained power monitoring solution without investing in hardware Devices.
L'Oréal - UNESCO Awards
Stéphanie Challita et Fanny Orlhac, deux chercheuses Inria comptent parmi les lauréates de la nouvelle édition des Bourses France L’Oréal-UNESCO « Pour les Femmes et la Science ». Ces bourses récompensent les travaux de recherche de jeunes scientifiques singulièrement talentueuses. En soutenant la place des femmes dans la recherche, et en mettant en avant les portraits de ces chercheuses, ce programme a aussi pour objectif d’inciter plus de jeunes filles à se tourner vers les sciences.
