History of Inria
A medical doctor by training, Michel Laudet was, after being spotted by government computer science chief Robert Galley, appointed CEO of IRIA in January 1967.
Combining computer sciences with mathematics, Inria’s 3,400 researchers strive to invent the digital technologies of the future. Educated at leading international universities, they creatively integrate basic research with applied research and dedicate themselves to solving real problems, collaborating with the main players in public and private research in France and abroad and transferring the fruits of their work to innovative companies. The researchers at Inria published over 4,500 articles in 2013.
In 2017, Inria will recruit permanent researchers through a competitive examination held at its research centres in the Paris region and various locations in France. Take up the challenges of the digital sciences and enrich your life by joining one of our project teams at the crossroads of academia and industry!
