Resilience and elasticity for security and scalability of dynamic networked systems
Resilience and elasticity for security and scalability of dynamic networked systems

The RESIST project designs, implements and validates novel models, algorithms and tools for highly elastic and resilient networked systems:

  • Resilience refers to the ability of a system to adapt itself when facing challenging situations. It is reasonable to assume that any system may face an attack for which protection mechanisms may fail.
  • Elasticity refers to the ability of a system to scale up and down on demand. It has been recently leveraged in support of Network Function Virtualization (NFV) coupled with Software-Defined Networking (SDN).

The ultimate goal is to enhance scalability and security, assuming users, applications and devices will continue to increase in numbers and heterogeneity.
