These very strong ties with the academic world will be strengthened thanks to the new premises at the heart of the Information and Communication Science and Technologies campus.

A large proportion of the research that we currently conduct at the Inria Bordeaux - Sud-Ouest Centre aims to meet the technology needs of businesses. This is why we hold ongoing dialogue with socioeconomic players in the greater Sud-Ouest region.
The Centre's scientific development strategy aims to promote the emergence of ambitious new research subjects. These are addressed in partnership with local stakeholders at the forefront of these subjects in other disciplines in order to optimise the impact of the Centre's research activities.
The Inria Bordeaux - Sud-Ouest Centre aims to do everything in its power to foster scientific "catalysis". As such, the Centre is involved in a number of technology development actions, including the development of one platform in high performance computing: PlaFRIM.

The Inria Bordeaux–Sud-Ouest Research Centre was created in 2008 and is located on the Bordeaux and Pau university campuses. The Centre, together with its academic and industrial partners, carries out research activities in computational sciences and technologies (IT/mathematics), boosted by technology transfer and innovation in a particularly stimulating and dynamic region.
Since spring 2012, Inria Bordeaux - Sud-Ouest Research Centre have its own building in Bordeaux (Talence). The universities of Bordeaux and Pau and Pays de l'Adour are home to some of our research teams which also operate from university laboratories associated with our centre.
