Inria MoocLab opens up new research topics

MoocLab was established by Inria in May 2013 with the aim of coordinating the activities of Inria and those partners wishing to join it in the field of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). These new digital social entities are still at the experimental stage, but they are poised to enter a period of rapid growth.

The winners of five Inria awards in 2014 will be honoured on 13 October, at an awards ceremony at the Forum des Images in Paris.

New MOOC on bioinformatics

The MOOC "Bioinformatics: genomes and algorithms" (in english) will be available on November, 2nd on the platform France Université Numérique. This course will be given by François Rechenmann, a bioinformatics scientist and a former research director at Inria for 30 years. He has worked in Ibis team whose research projects focus on digital biology. He now devotes himself to managing the bioinformatics company Genostar.

Alexandre Dubus: An award-winning Mooc Maker

Alexandre Dubus is a young graduate engineer at Inria Lille – Northern Europe. Since 2013, he has been working on the development of the FUN MOOC platform. Last Monday, this work was recognized when he was declared a winner of the Inria Support for Research and Innovation Award.

Two members from Lille win the award for research and innovation support

The MoocLab technical team has won the 2014 award for research and innovation support. It is a team of seven engineers and managers from the institute, including two members from Inria Lille - Nord Europe – Alexandre Dubus, development engineer and Guillaume Ollivier, head of the experimentation and development department.
