The NECS team has rolled out an experimental system in Grenoble that regulates and forecasts car traffic on the basis of sensors placed under a road's surface.
Inria has been involved in organising the 2014 edition of ICIP, the international conference dedicated to image-processing, which is being held in France for the first time, between 27 and 30 October at CNIT, Paris – La Défense. Christine Guillemot, Sirocco team manager and Josiane Zerubia, Ayin team manager are both managers of the organising committee. Guillemot will be chairing the plenary sessions while Zerubia will be chairing the tutorials. Nicholas Ayache, manager of the Asclépios team, who was recently awarded the Inria – French Académie des sciences Grand Prize 2014 will be giving a talk entitled “Medical Image Computing for Computational Medicine” on 28 October. Among the numerous Inria teams conducting research into image-processing, eleven teams are involved in the work chosen for ICIP 2014, namely the Ayin, Asclépios, Géostat, Lagadic, Magrit, Prima, Stars, Serpico, Sirrocco, TexMex and Titane teams. Several teams will also be showing their work on the Inria Stand (N°9). These will be Ayin, Clime, Geostat, Morpheme and Stars.

History of Inria
A graduate of the ENST, he submitted a PhD thesis in 1983 on "probabilistic models for distributed systems". He joined Inria in 1987. He led the research group on modelling and simulation of computer systems at the Sophia-Antipolis research centre until 1998. Today, he heads up the TREC project-team.
Presentation of various patient specific simulations of the cardio-vascular system. The results obtained in a clinical or pre-clinical context pave the way for the use of numerical simulations in a diagnosis or prognosis context in cardiology.
Data assimilation in tumor growth modeling : towards patient calibrated models using imaging devices
Most of the time, clinicians follow the evolution of in-vivo tumors using medical images. The tumor growth or the efficacy of a therapy are evaluated using simple criteria based on the images (diameter measurements for instance) .
Our goal is to improve these evaluations by developing new robust quantitative criteria based on mathematical models and medical images. Through these spatial models for tumor growth calibrated patient by patient, one could an insight of the future evolution of the tumor, its composition or could be helped finding the most efficient therapeutical protocol.
Presentation of SAMSON (Software for Adaptive Modeling and Simulation Of Nanosystems). SAMSON is a software platform for modeling and simulating nanosystems, either natural or artificial. SAMSON integrates algorithms developed by the NANO-D team at INRIA and its collaborators. The specificity of SAMSON consists in the integration of simulation methods during the modeling phase: adaptive, interactive simulation algorithms provide immediate feedback on the impact of modeling choices.

A Colloquium in honor of Jean Roberts and Jérôme Jaffré. This 2-day conference will celebrate the career of Jean Roberts and Jérôme Jaffré in the field of modeling and simulation of flow and transport in porous media. Invited talks by leading researchers will highlight some of their contributions, as well as shed light on their careers at Inria.

Over the past ten years, the Coprin team has worked with the flight simulation department at Airbus to automate the generation of code on the basis of equations written by physicists. A demonstration program of the Mosela environment was completed in December 2012 and should be brought to market soon.
