20 years of LIAMA

The Sino-European Laboratory in Computer Science, Automation and Applied Mathematics (LIAMA) celebrated its 20th birthday on 11 and 12 July in Beijing, in the presence of Antoine Petit. On this occasion its founder members, CASIA (Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)), the Dutch national research institute CWI (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica) and Inria signed a renewal of their agreement, giving new impetus to this historic and successful partnership.

These robots are going to explore historic monuments

The Larsen team from the Inria centre in Nancy is developing - in partnership with the Institute of Movement Sciences (CNRS & Aix-Marseille University) - miniature and semi-autonomous robots capable of exploring the inaccessible areas of monuments and leaving a minimum of traces behind.

The Web Conference in Lyon

From 23-27 April, Inria is taking part in the 27th edition of the most prestigious international conference on the Web, The Web Conference, which this year is organised by the University of Lyon in partnership with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional council and the Lyon metropolitan authority, in collaboration with the Digital League and IW3C2. Fabien Gandon, leader of the Wimmics project-team, is co-president of the 2017 edition.

Collaboration between CAS and Inria

6/04/2018

Inria and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) signed a memorandum of understanding on Artificial Intelligence in Paris on 5 April 2018. The aim is to promote the development of joint research projects on subjects of common interest in the field of Artificial Intelligence and to encourage the mobility of scientists. This partnership strengthens existing cooperation between Inria and China, particularly through the LIAMA laboratory.

Inria Awards 2017

International Partnerships Team : Inria Support for Research and Innovation Award

In 2013, the team responsible for the European Research Area received the Inria Support for Research and Innovation Award. Four years later, and following a merger with the institute's International Relations department, the new European and International Partnerships Department (EIPD) is rewarded through international partnership officers Angélica Biard, Tania Castro and Laura Norcy, as well as Julie Pomponne, management assistant for the whole of the DPEI.

Inria and MITACS further 2014 research-partnership agreement

Capitalizing on five years of research-collaboration success, Mitacs and Inria renewed their partnership originally signed in 2014. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) supports two-way international research opportunities for graduate researchers at Canadian universities and at eight Inria Research Centres in France.
