2012 Inria Awards
On 14 June in Paris, the "Inria Awards" ceremony will take place for the second consecutive year. After Gérard Huet, Bruno Levy, Stéphane Donikian... who will be the 2012 prize winners? In your immediate surroundings, perhaps you know a researcher or a team of scientists whose research results, vision, action, and originality of approach contribute to advances in computer sciences and mathematics for the development of our society. Inria invites you to nominate your candidates.
On November 27 2013, at 6 pm, at Bercy, Fleur Pellerin, Minister of State responsible for Small and Medium Enterprises, Innovation, and the Digital Economy, alongside Louis Gallois, the French General Commissioner for Public Investment, officially presented theFrench Techinitiative, formerly known by its code nameQuartiers numériques(Digital Neighbourhoods).
The purpose of this initiative is to organise and highlight, in France and abroad, French digital ecosystems - both existing ones and those that need to be created - in order to encourage the growth of digital enterprises and help them become leaders worldwide.
The Académie des sciences (French Academy of Sciences) and Inria are now working in partnership to select the winners of the Inria Awards for science, in each of three categories. Together, they honour innovative scientific contributions to computer science and mathematics and promote the contributions and successes of those who are driving the development of our digital world.
The achievements of the 2013 award winners are a testament to the dynamism of computational sciences and their impact on society.

Inria announces the creation of InSimo, an innovative company in the field of medical simulation software
InSimo, a medical simulation software publisher, offers a software platform developed, among others, by Inria, which introduces a new generation of medical simulators to the market. These simulators are more accurate and take less time to develop. Furthermore, these simulators will help broaden the scope of application to meet new requirements in terms of assistance in planning and completing increasingly complex surgical operations.
