The Digital Workshop welcomes Amiqual4Home, equipment of excellence for the intelligent home


The Digital Workshop, a space for innovation, experimentation and the development of digital and software businesses, opened its doors in Montbonnot on the 5th of June 2015. The workshop houses the brand new Amiqual4Home platform, equipment of excellence (Equipex), supported by Inria and dedicated to the intelligent home and connected objects, together with the Tarmac G business nursery, and a number of young innovative companies.

The Internet of Things :Two new equipments of excellence

Inaugurated last autumn, the IoT-LAB and CorteXlab platforms are strengthening the capabilities of the FIT equipment of excellence dedicated to the Internet of Things. Offering a unique wide-ranging collection of equipment, these laboratories are available to both researchers and commercial companies alike.

Named FIT, iDive, and Ligan, all three of these facilities-of-the-future projects (“Equipex”, for “Equipements d’Excellence” ), selected from over 600 proposals through the two calls for projects, are involving all researchers at Inria Lille to various degrees. For the teams, recognition and new opportunities are guaranteed.

The Maison de la Simulation inaugurates an ultra-high resolution wall

The Maison de la Simulationis a laboratory set up in 2011 at the Saclay site. In September, it will start to use a visualisation wall acquired as part of the Digiscope project. The wall will be inaugurated on 15 September and early November in the presence of Dr Mandelbrot, the son of the man who "invented" fractals.

R2Lab anechoic chamber a heterogeneous wireless testbed


R2lab is an open testbed, located in an anechoic chamber, for reproducible research in wireless WiFi and 4G/5G networks. This testbed is federated to the FIT Equipment of Excellence facility and will be inaugurated on Wednesday November 9th in the presence of Antoine Petit, CEO of Inria.

R2lab proposes thirty seven customisable commercial off-the-shelf wireless devices together with efficient software tools to support easy experimentation. These tools allow to book the whole testbed, to remotely control the wireless devices, to easily deploy various scenarios and to collect results

Inria Sophia Antipolis R2lab demo: a 4G network deployed remotely in three minutes

R2lab, the FIT team’s new testbed, was inaugurated on 9 November by Antoine Petit, CEO of Inria, in the presence of many scientists. Its new anechoic chamber can be used to remotely perform reproducible wireless network experimentation (5G/software-defined radio). R2lab, managed by the DIANA project-team led by Walid Dabbous and the centre’s Development and Experimentation department, presented a 4G network being deployed remotely in merely three minutes
