Gang Zheng, winner of the ULNE I-SITE's EXPAND call for projects


Gang Zheng, a researcher with the Defrost* project team at the Inria Lille center, is one of the winners of the Université de Lille Nord Europe's I-SITE EXPAND 2017 call for projects. His soft robotics projects is among the eight EXPAND projects financed to up to €200k (including the recruitment of a PhD student). These calls for projects were launched with the support of the MEL (Métropole Européenne de Lille) and the collaboration of SATT Nord, the French technology transfer accelerator company.

Robotics Society of Japan best paper for the Defrost team


The Defrost project team has just received a best paper award from the Robotics Society of Japan for a paper published in the journalAdvanced Robotics. This article presents one of the team's research areas: the creation of a framework for the modeling, simulation and control of soft robots.

Inria and TDR are designing the gripper of the future

On December 6, the Inria Lille research center will inaugurate its new demonstration area, where the results of some partnerships between Inria teams and start-ups will be presented. The prototypes include a robot gripper developed jointly by project team Defrost and the company TDR.
