The second edition of the CNIL-INRIA "Privacy Protection" Prize starts on 2 May 2017. It will reward a scientific paper on privacy and personal data protection published in 2015-2016. The award is intended to raise awareness and promote research on privacy and data protection.

On the occasion of the 12th edition of the international Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP) conference, Pierre Laperdrix, Walter Rudametkin and Benoit Baudry received the award for their article "Beauty and the Beast: Diverting modern web browsers to build unique browser fingerprints ". The CNIL-Inria prize rewards research undertaken with a view to creating a trustworthy digital society.
The CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) and Inria have awarded the 2017 "privacy protection" Prize to a European research team. During the 11th international conference Computers Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP) to Seda GÜRSES, Carmela TRONCOSO and Claudia DIAZ for their article « Engineering privacy by design reloaded ».
