Jan Gmys, Ph.D. student under the co-direction of Nouredine Melab within the project-team Dolphin (associated with the University of Lille 1 *) of Inria Lille - Nord Europe, has just been awarded a Best Paper Award for the work doned during his thesis, at the International conference PPAM'2015 about parallelism and applied mathematics.

Best Paper Award at International Geometry Summit 2016

Pierre Alliez and Mathieu Desbrun from project-team Inria TITANIUM received a Best Paper Award for a communication presented at 'International Geometry Summit 2016 in Berlin.

Pierre Alliez is Chief Senior Research Scientist at Inria Sophia Antipolis - Méditerranée centre, and Mathieu Desbrun holds an International Inria Chair and is professor at California Institute of Technology. The International Geometry Summit was held in Berlin from 20 to 24 June 2016.

The rewarded publication is entitled "Symmetry and Orbit Detection via Lie-Algebra Voting".
It is co-signed with three researchers of the University of Zhejiang, Zeyun Shi, Hujun Bao and Jin Huang.
