Green next-generation distributed computing

DeFab, Avalon project-team (Inria Grenoble - Rhône-Alpes) -

DeFab developed a water-heater with integrated computing modules. The heat produced by those modules is used to heat the water. Specific job dispatching algorithms assure a regular heat supply for the water-heater. These algorithms have been developed jointly with the Inria team Avalon.

Green DIET

Avalon project-team (Inria Grenoble - Rhône-Alpes) -

DIET is a middleware allowing plug-in development for job dispatching in data centres based on energy-related criteria. In case of energy consumption peaks, jobs can bemigrated dynamically to another node. DIET offers a multi-criteria and dynamic dispatching method that is extensible to large computing systems. DIET is integrated into the Nueva platform, in collaboration with NewGeneration-SR.

Distributed computing

Blockchain and distributed computing at the service of reducing the environmental footprint

The Avalon research team, a joint team between Inria, CNRS, ENS de Lyon and the University Lyon1, in collaboration with the start-up Stimergy, is proposing a new distributed Cloud approach. This approach notably opens up prospects in the field of optimising the use of data centers with a reduction in their environmental footprint.
