Inria at ESOF 2018


After Stockholm, Munich, Barcelona, Torino, Dublin, Copenhagen and Manchester, Toulouse will host ESOF for its 8th edition under the motto “Sharing Science: towards new horizons” and will become the “European City of Science 2018”. Inria will present its research and scientific mediation work throughout the week.

The Web Conference


The Web Conference in Lyon


From 23-27 April, Inria is taking part in the 27th edition of the most prestigious international conference on the Web, The Web Conference, which this year is organised by the University of Lyon in partnership with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional council and the Lyon metropolitan authority, in collaboration with the Digital League and IW3C2. Fabien Gandon, leader of the Wimmics project-team, is co-president of the 2017 edition.

Collaboration between CAS and Inria


Inria and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) signed a memorandum of understanding on Artificial Intelligence in Paris on 5 April 2018. The aim is to promote the development of joint research projects on subjects of common interest in the field of Artificial Intelligence and to encourage the mobility of scientists. This partnership strengthens existing cooperation between Inria and China, particularly through the LIAMA laboratory.

Depuis 2014, Sorbonne Universités réunit ses chercheurs au cœur du campus de Jussieu pour y célébrer la Fête de la science au mois d’octobre. Cette manifestation permet à chacun et chacune de rencontrer les acteurs des sciences issus de tous les établissements membres de Sorbonne Universités.

En phase avec l’objectif d'excellence scientifique de Sorbonne Universités, son village des sciences a pour but de valoriser les problématiques scientifiques de sa communauté autour des enjeux de demain.

Can artificial intelligence help us to better understand natural intelligence? Pierre-Yves Oudeyer cultivates a vision of artificial intelligence that is as close as possible to the living world. A vision in which machines are at the service of humans. His guiding principle is looking to mechanisms of intrinsic motivation to enable humans and machines to progress in autonomous learning.
