The 8th winter school on Hot Topics in Distributed Computing.

This winter school will feature a series of talks by renowned researchers in hot topics in distributed computing, from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. Topics covered by the school typically include databases, multi-core computing, computer architecture, cryptography, social networks, software transactional memory, and replication-based fault-tolerance. This year, the scope of the school extends toward high performance computing and cloud computing platforms and algorithms.

Distributed computing

Blockchain and distributed computing at the service of reducing the environmental footprint

The Avalon research team, a joint team between Inria, CNRS, ENS de Lyon and the University Lyon1, in collaboration with the start-up Stimergy, is proposing a new distributed Cloud approach. This approach notably opens up prospects in the field of optimising the use of data centers with a reduction in their environmental footprint.
