This seminar is intended to review social networks from an inter-disciplinary point of view, so as to gain a better appreciation of the range of issues raised by this domain in methodological, scientific and policy terms. What is the real structure of these networks? How does such knowledge affect sociology? What are its policy consequences? What kind of world is emerging as a result of this digital frenzy?

The 12th edition of the International Conference on Software Engineering and Formal Methods will be held in Grenoble, France on September 1-5, 2014 . The aim of the conference is to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia, industry and government to advance the state of the art in formal methods, to facilitate their uptake in the software industry and to encourage their integration with practical engineering methods. SEFM 2014 is organized by Inria and supported by Grenoble INP, University Joseph-Fourier, LIG, and CNRS.
The E-Motion project team will present its latest innovations in service and assistance robotics at the European summit, Innorobo 2014, in Lyon: a robotised wheelchair whose navigation is guided by understanding the human environment, and a perception system embedded in a vehicle, that can detect and monitor moving objects. HYCON 2 (Highly-complex and networked control systems) is a EU FP7 Network of Excellence. It aims at stimulating and establishing the long-term integration of the European research community, leading institutions and industry in the strategic field of control of complex, large-scale, and networked dynamical systems. HYCON2 has identified several applications, among which a show-case on “Traffic Modeling, Estimation and Control”.
