Awards and Distinctions
The EIC Accelerator 2019 celebrates Kayrros, an Inria startup.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) has awarded an “Accelerator” grant to Kayrros, a startup specializing in the energy sector and quantitative information.
Co-founded by Alexandre d'Aspresmont , CNRS researcher in optimization and machine learning in the Sierra team (at the ENS Paris/ Inria/ CNRS IT department), Kayrros offers innovative software solutions to measure oil stocks worldwide in real time (through the exploitation of satellite images and public data).
The EIC Accelerator supports high-risk and high-potential start-ups, small and medium-size companies and innovators to help them develop and bring to the market new innovative products, services and business models that can stimulate economic growth.
Thanks to this award, the startup, which was created in 2016 and now has 80 employees, will receive up to 2.5 million euros to finance its innovation work over a period of 12 to 24 months. The startup’s ambition is to make Kayrros a full-fledged quantitative and macroeconomic medium, addressing the issue of renewable, solar and wind energy, in addition to its position in a market that already impacts directly the world economy.
