ACQUA - Estimate the quality of Internet applications at the access

Team DIANA (Inria Sophia Antipolis - Méditerranée) -

ACQUA presents a new way for the evaluation of the performance of Internet access. Starting from network-level measurements as the ones we often do today (bandwidth, delay, loss rates, etc), ACQUA targets the estimated quality of experience related to the different applications if run at the access. An application in ACQUA is a function that links the network-level measurements to its expected quality of experience. We explain with this demo our scientific approach and illustrate the main functions of ACQUA with the help of the Skype quality profile.

ALCATEL-LUCENT - A High Speed Information-Centric Network in a Mobile Backhaul Setting

We demonstrate a high speed Information-Centric Network in a mobile backhaul setting. Specifically, we show the feasibility of an information aware data plane and we highlight   the significant benefits it provides in terms of both user experience and network provider cost in the backhaul setting. Our setup consists of high-speed ICN devices employed in a down-scaled realistic representation of a mobile backhaul topology, fed with traffic workloads characterized from Orange's mobile network.

APISENSE is a middleware platform enabling crowd-sensing by federating volunteer smartphones to collect significant datasets in the field using surveys or sharing sensor data and guaranteeing the respect for their private life. The APISENSE® platform facilitates collection, storage and contributed data processing by a crowd of users. Based on the Web standards and deployed in the Cloud, APISENSE® allows to handle large volume of data that can be returned to various stakeholders and under different forms.

CAIRN - Motion tracking with body area sensors network

This demonstration show a real time motion tracking with low cost BAN radio sensor network. Acquire data are send to to a computer for processing and HCI. We plan some evolution of this platform to use radio quality data and to embedded some processing inside sensor node.

DIONYSOS - IEEE 1588-based network load estimation and its applications

We present a network load estimation service, which builds upon a measurement-driven learning methodology modelling the delay behavior of the Precision Time Protocol (PTPv2/IEEE 1588-2008) in the presence of varying traffic workloads. As a use case, we demonstrate how this service can be utilized for load-aware video delivery using Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) technologies.

MADYNES - A Security Monitoring platform for Android Environments

Android environments are facing several threats and attacks due their massive deployment on different devices ( smartphones, tablets, glasses, smart Tv, ...).

Madynes team is working on the development of a monitoring platform dedicated to the security analysis and these environments. In this demonstration, we will present the different parts of the platform.

We will mainly present our monitoring probes Flowoid and Collimator which are able to collect network activities and logs generated by running applications on an android device. We will also present Ovaldroid which is a vulnerability assessment agent dedicated to Android environments. Finally, we will present the collector side associated to our probes to collect, store and analyse the different data issued by these probes.
