Simulation of cardiac catheterization

Many cardiac arrythmias are being treated through cardiac catheterization consisting in the endovascular exploration of the cardiac cavities followed by the measurement of electrophysiological signals eventually leading to the local destruction of cardiac tissus. The simulator implemented around the Sofa platform,  allows cardiologists to train at navigating catheters inside the heart and then to perform radiofrequency ablation in order to remove cardiac cells  at the origin of the arrythmia. This simulator is based on patient-specific MR  images and  biophysical modeling of the heart.
