GDR GPL awarded Thomas Durieux's thesis
GDR GPL awarded Thomas Durieux by giving his an Honorable mention for his thesis performed in Spirals project-team of Inria Lille - Nord Europe center*.
The members of the GDR GPL (Groupement de Recherche Génie de la Programmation et du Logiciel [Programming and Software Engineering Research Group) belong to the French scientific community involved in Software Engineering and Programming. Every year, the group organizes a national event bringing together all those working in the sector. The next event will be held in Toulouse from 11 to 14 June 2019, and on this occasion Thomas Durieux will be awarded the GDR GPL honorable mention for his thesis.
Honorable mention for his thesis
Thomas Durieux, who defended his thesis in September 2018 as part of a collaboration between Inria and Microsoft (Inria-MSR joint lab), was awarded the prize for the best thesis 2018 in software engineering for his thesis entitled "From run-time failures to patches: study of patch generation in production" carried out at the University of Lille, under the scientific direction of Martin Monperrus, Lionel Seinturier and Youssef Hamadi.
Since obtaining his thesis, Thomas has been working at the INSEC-ID (Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Lisboa) in Lisbon, Portugal, on the same themes as his doctorate.
*Spirals is an associated project-team between Inria and the University of Lille − sciences et technologies (within the UMR 9189 CNRS-Centrale Lille-Université de Lille − sciences et technologies, CRIStAL).
