Carlos Canudas awarded an IEEE Fellowship

On 1 January 2016, Carlos Canudas de Wit was awarded an IEEE Fellowship for his work on networked mechanical and robotics system control and modelling.
Carlos, who manages the NECS project team and is the director of research at CNRS, Carlos Canudas de wit been an automation specialist for more than 20 years; his research on the control of networked systems mainly focuses on “intelligent” transportation and robotics within Inria and the GIPSA laboratory.
The IEEE Fellow distinction is reserved for IEEE members who have made a major contribution to one of this prestigious professional association’s fields of research; less than 0.1% of its members are awarded an IEEE Fellowship each year.
1987: PhD in automatics from the Grenoble Institut National Polytechnique (Automatics Department)
1987: CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) researcher in controlled systems
2007: creation of the NECS project team (Networked Controlled Systems)
2013: "Distinguished lecturer" for the IEEE Control System Society
2016: "IEEE Fellow" for his work on networked controlled systems
