The EATCS (European Association of Theoretical Computer Science) Award 2009 is awarded to Gerard Huet in recognition of the excellent research contributions to theoretical computer science produced throughout his outstanding scientific career.

The book Springer Handbook of Robotics received two prices of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (The PROSE Awards), The first one in "Physical Sciences & Mathematics", and the second one in Engineering & Technology. Fabien Lotte, former doctorant in Bunraku project-team, in post-doc at Singapour obtained AFRIF thesis prize for his thesis entitled "Study of Electroencephalographic Signal Processing and Classification Techniques towards the use of Brain-Computer Interfaces in Virtual Reality Applications" (December 4, 2008).
Jonathan Boisvert (project-team ASCLEPIOS): Prize of thesis in joint guardianship 2009
Jonathan Boisvert is a prize-winner of the Prize of thesis in joint guardianship 2009. Its thesis, led in collaboration between the project ASCLEPIOS, the University of Montreal, and the Saint - Justine de Montreal hospital concerned the construction, from the medical images, from the geometrical and statistical models of the scoliosis at the child. The thesis was co-managed by N. Ayache and X. Pennec (project-team ASCLEPIOS), and F. Cheriet( University of Montreal).
Jonathan Touboul (project team NEUROMATHCOMP),which supported its thesis of mathematics to the Ecole polytechnique 23 decembre on 2008, has just received one of 10 prizes of theses awarded by the Doctoral Schools for all the disciplines.
