The IPv6 action is a research and development initiative in the domain of
computer networks on the following topics: ATM / RSVP / IPv6.
ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is a telecommunication protocol based upon
cell switching.
RSVP is the system for quality of service and resource reservation on the
Internet.
IPv6 (IP version 6) is the protocol proposed for the next generation of IP (Internet Protocol).
Research themes
Implementation of the mobility protocol for IPv6
Implementation of IPv6 for BSD Unix supporting hosts, routers, standard
applications, security,...
Implementation of routing protocols for IPv6 (RIPng, BGP4+,...).
Experimentation of the RSVP system for multimedia applications such as
videoconference.
IPv6 support above ATM with quality of service.
