Print   Types of collaboration with INRIA Nancy - Grand Est

There are two principal forms of collaboration: direct collaboration and multipartner (> 2) participation in a consortium project.

Direct collaborations with a company

  •  Trainees internship - the trainee becomes part of a team and is supervised by scientists. He works on a subject proposed by the company. Duration 3-6 months / Funding: company
  •  Industrial Post-Doc. - INRIA co-finances post-doctoral students in the enterprise to concretize the results of their research thesis. In certain cases, these results can lead to the creation of an enterprise. Duration: 1 or 2 years / Funding: company/INRIA
  • "Contrat Cifre" - the doctoral students continue their research in part-time in a company. The contract specifies the IPRs and exploitation rights of their research results. Duration: 3 years / Funding: company/ANRT (CIFRE)
  •  R&D Partnership Contract  - When a solution to a given problem does not exist in the state of the art, or when expertise is needed in accordance with competences of the researchers, an industrial can request the help of an INRIA research team specialized in the concerned field in order to set up scientific co-operation. (...) Duration: according to needs / Funding: company.

Multipartner projects (consortia)

  • Answers to national calls for proposals: every year the ANR publishes calls for projects, supporting collaborations between industrials and academics. Duration: 2-4 years / Funding: ANR (partial)
  • Participation in the European programs: within the framework of the 7th PCRD, ambitious R & D projects involving international collaboration (research/company) can be funded. Duration 2-4 years / Funding: European Funds (partial)
  • Participation in software development consortia.  INRIA was at the origin of a number of initiatives, the vocation of which is to continue the development of results that are now in their final stage, in particular for free software. See:  Consortia in progress.
