Team presentation
For the last twenty years bioinformatics has undergone a remarkable evolution and became a rich and active research field. This advancement is associated with a breakthrough development of molecular biology technologies, such as high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic, that resulted in the availability of a large body of data. This data offers unprecedented opportunities to elucidate the functionning of the genome and of the cell. The main goal of SEQUOIA2 is to develop appropriate tools to analyse genomes and to perform large-scale sequence analysis. This task includes the definition of combinatorial models and efficient algorithms, the development and diffusion of robust software, the validation on biological data. Most of the research projects are carried out in collaboration with biology research groups.
