Team presentation
AXIS is a multi-disciplinary project-team (Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis and Software Engineering) with researchers issued from the ex-teams AID , CROAP and ADOPT. It leads researches in the area of Information Systems (ISs) (particularly Web sites) and aims to develop methods and tools used in the design, the analysis and the improvement of the ISs. The objective of our research are two. The first is to help the both types of actors (designers and users) involved in the utilisation of the ISs. The second objective is to anticipate and/or support the following two problems for information Systems (IS), and more specially in Web sites. Its goal is to develop methods and tools for supporting the user-centered design, the analysis and the improvment of ISs. The main goal is to support two kinds of actors (designers-architects and users) in using ISs and to anticipate, from the design step, the following problems:
- Usage analysis
- Maintenance and integration of frequent evolutions of the site
Research themes
- Static Aspects of an IS:
- Formalisation of global constraints (consistency, expected usage) of an IS,
- Semantic checking of hypermedia ISs based on the W3C standards,
- Experience Management in formalising such constraints according to different types of ISs.
- Dynamic Aspects of an IS:
- Formalisation of the usage of an IS, of the notion of user session, of a Data Wharehouse oriented "usage analysis".
- Statistical and Exploratory Analysis Methods: search of frequent sub-sequences of items, topologic cards of Kohonen, classification of complex data (descriptors of types interval, taxonomy), pyramidal classification structure.
- Design of adaptive recommender systems based on on-line usage analysis and reuse methods (aspects adaptation to the user, and learning capabilities): data mining et case-based reasoning.
- Validation of the quality of an IS in order to capitalize general knowledge and/or experience in evaluating an IS with methods issued from Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis and Software Engineering.
International and industrial relations
- Industrial Relations with CNES, EDF, France Télécom, RXCE.
- International Relations: relations with the universities of Porto, Lisbon (Portugal), McGill (Canada) and participation in the NSF project with the university of Georgia (USA), France-Chine with the University BUUA of Peking (LIAMA), France-Brazil with the university of Pernanbuco (Récife, INRIA-CNPQ).
- Participation to the European projects, networks (IST) or actions (COST).
- Participation (at the national level) to GDR-PRC I3, GRACQ-FIA, French Society of Statistics, Francophone Society of Classification.
