Luc d'Archimbaud, Director of Administrative, Financial, and Asset Affairs

Luc d'Archimbaud has been named Director of administrative, financial, and asset affairs. He supervises and coordinates the institute's administrative operations. He implements modernisation and management control and organises internal information on administrative procedures of any kind. He is responsible for preparing and executing revenue and expenditure budgets, defining and implementing financial and accounting procedures, and monitoring contracts, public procurement contracts, and agreements.
Luc d'Archimbaud fulfils a number of functions for the institute: advisory, expertise, legal watch, and defence of the institution. He also coordinates the institute's actions regarding health and safety. He coordinates the implementation of Inria’s real estate and assets policy. He participates in the consulting committees and coordinates the network bringing together the administrative and financial department heads of the research centres and the headquarters. He performs a coordination function for the network of general services of the research centres. He sends any instructions aiming to align, clarify, and simplify management methods to the directors and the administrative and financial department heads of the research centres. He represents Inria for any matter within his responsibilities.
Luc d’Archimbaud graduated from Supélec and continued his education with a postgraduate specialist diploma in Management Science, as well as an MBA from INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Administration.
He has a wide range of experience working with several large companies and has been in charge of financial departments, notably with Thomson and Comatec-Renosol, a subsidiary of CGE (Veolia Water). He then worked for over ten years at the CEA (French atomic energy agency), initially in the financial department as Budget Director before later going on to join the General and Nuclear Inspectorate as the Director of General Inspection and Auditing, his most recent position.
