Eric Gautrin, Director of the Information Systems, Infrastructures, and Computer Services Department
On 21 March 2007, Eric Gautrin was appointed Director of the information systems, infrastructures, and computer services department (DSI). He supervises the establishment, operation, and growth of the institute's information system. He contributes to developing the Information System Master Plan (SOSI), which is discussed and decided upon by the Strategic Orientation and Monitoring Committee (COSS). He is in charge of implementing the institute's information system, ensuring its overall consistency and security, and managing the IT budgets.
To do this, Eric Gautrin relies on the IT departments of the research centres, the information system security manager (RSSI), and the four departments respectively in charge of urban planning, the scientific information system, the management information system, and the operation of the information system. He leads the management team of the DSI, which groups together all of the department heads and the information system security manager (RSSI). He represents Inria for any matter within his responsibilities.
Recruited by Inria in 1987 as a junior research scientist, he took over responsibility for the IT department of Inria Rennes in 1993. In early 2003, he took on the role of project manager for the VISON project (towards a secure, portable intranet). In February 2005, he was named coordinator of the CCMI (IT Resource Coordination Committee), then in May 2006, interim director of the information systems, infrastructures, and services department.
