European project
Laure Guion - 26/10/2012
2014 marks the centenary of the First World War. But how can such an event be commemorated when the relevant historical resources are scattered throughout the whole of Europe and historians have not yet been able to conduct an exhaustive study of all of them? Laurent Romary explains how, with the CENDARI project, computational sciences can provide a solution to this problem and come to the aid of all social sciences.

International programmes
Each year, Inria welcomes students from all over the world for a research training experience through the Internships programme. Undergraduate, masters or PhD students come and spend a few months in an Inria research team. Two students, Michail Zervos and Nadia Khalfa, talk about their successful experience and offer advice to all those who may be interested in the Internships programme.

Inria Industry Meeting
6/07/2012
Nowadays, virtual reality becomes more and more engrained in our everyday lives, both personal and professional, in the form of games, motion pictures, simulators and more. Simulation is now often an important part of the training for people of different professions. Methods for representing artificial or augmented environments are being constantly improved. Researchers also keep developing even more precise models, now closely approaching the living world. This modeling work is carried out on a multi-scale level, taking into account a wide range of parameters. These resulting models can thus be adapted and applied to a specific environment, application, topic or theme, and thus to the patient.

Technology Transfer at Inria
The strategic partnerships that Inria establishes are long-term bilateral partnerships with large industrial groups, formalized in a framework agreement. A research program is developed jointly by Inria and its partner based on the industrial player’s proposed priority topics. Research projects, fitting into this program, are then developed jointly by Inria’s teams and the partner. In addition, a steering committee and a scientific committee ensure that the collaboration is consistent and runs smoothly.
