Frama-C, a toolbox for verification of C software

Frama-C allows users to combine numerous static analysis techniques, from verification of coding rules to analysis through abstract interpretation, and the verification of functional specifications thanks to the principles of the deductive approach to program verification. The targeted domains are critical embedded software, implementations of cryptographic libraries, and security.

Astrée: Proof of Absence of Runtime Errors

Astrée is a static analyzer making it possible to prove the absence of runtime errors in embedded critical C programs. This proof is fully automatic and is carried out at the source code level, with regard to the semantics of the language. Astrée has successfully analyzed industrial-size applications in the aerospace field. The Astrée analyzer was designed and developed within the Abstraction team. It is currently distributed by the company Absint Angewandte Informatik.

Hubert Garavel wins Humboldt Prize

Isabelle Bellin - 16/05/2011

Hubert Garavel recently received the Gay-Lussac Humboldt Research Award. He is the fourth French scientist in the field of computer science to be awarded this Prize, one of his predecessors being Alain Bensoussan (1983), former chairman of Inria. As a consequence of this award, Hubert Garavel is invited to Germany, where he will be hosted by Professor Holger Hermanns, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Saarland, with whom he has been collaborating for 10 years.
