Inria Awards 2012

A word from Michel Cosnard

« Our society relies on digital technologies to an ever-increasing extent. To permit and assist this development, research and innovation in information technology sciences and mathematics are essential. A number of societal issues are concerned, such as health, the environment, and privacy, to name but a few. Digital technology also represents a key factor in economic and social development thanks to its capacity for technological innovation and distribution.

To underline the significance of these issues, our institute has decided to create the Inria Awards. Five awards are attributed in recognition of exceptional scientific progress in IT sciences and mathematics, major contributions to technology transfer or innovation in these fields, and the quality of efforts to support and back research. These activities contribute to the efficiency of our institute and the success of our scientists’ work depends on them in many ways. »
